Experienced full-stack Rails developer who loves small teams and full-time work with an American company.

Do you love writing clean, solid code that's easy to maintain? Enjoy flexing your full-stack muscles by working with a great UX/UI designer on a beautiful site that millions of consumers will use? Crave working on a small, fast-paced team that hates unproductive meetings and “office politics”?

Are you a truly expert Rails developer who knows how to use Bootstrap to deliver a truly responsive site? Do you love writing and debugging Javascript and CSS?

If you answered “yes!” to these questions, then this is the job for you.

A little about us: We are a fully-funded startup in NYC (www.show-score.com), which is like a Rotten Tomatoes for theater. Our small product team (product lead, UX/UI designer, and 3 Rails developers) has built a fully-responsive Rails/Postgres/HAML/SASS/Bootstrap site (with some React thrown in).

You need to be very comfortable with backend data structures and application logic in Rails. You need to be fluent in JavaScript including ES6, be familiar with Webpack, be able to convert a static image into clean and valid HTML5 and CSS3, and ideally have experience in React (or be able to learn it fast).

You also need to be the kind of person who loves to code, who takes great pride in clean, well-documented code, and who wants to be part of a small, fast-paced, world-class team. You must be comfortable with low-overhead process (Slack and Trello) and believe in TDD.

We're looking for one person who is available ~40-50 hours weekly on a regular schedule. There is a lot to learn, with a fair amount of coordination, so we don't want to constantly have to bring new people up to speed. Given the hours involved, this will likely be your only project (and certainly feel that way to us). You can be a freelancer or a full-time employee.

You can be located anywhere, but must overlap with NYC working hours (10am - 6pm GMT-4) for at least 4 hours daily. You must have strong English writing and speaking skills, though your English doesn't have to be fluent.

If this sounds great, please send a detailed email to job@show-score.com.

In the email please explain why you are a good fit, and include links to your github and LinkedIn profiles.
